Duct Doctor DMV offers professional, award-winning service for residential duct cleaning!
- We send 2 uniformed technicians to your home.
- One technician connects our powerful vacuum hose to your home’s air handler.
- He then inserts the high-velocity air sweeper in the ductwork, which acts as an agitator to dislodge any dirt and debris from the ducts.
- The other technician works inside your home using a high-velocity blower at the registers and air vents.
- This gives our vacuum additional blasting power- the hose from the truck sucks debris in, the blower at the registers blows debris out.
We perform this process at both the air return and supply of your duct work to ensure all debris and contaminants are removed.
We send 2 uniformed technicians to every home.
- One technician to work outside your home and
- The second to work inside.
Our technicians are trained by NADCA—the HVAC Inspection, Maintenance and Restoration Association.
The math is simple: When an HVAC system is clean, it doesn’t have to work as hard.
Contaminants and debris in your ductwork slow down the air flow, which makes your system work harder to maintain the desired temperature.
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, 25 to 40 percent of the energy used for heating and cooling a home is wasted.
Cleaning your ductwork can help regain some of that wasted energy leading to improved cost-effectiveness.

What are the health & safety benefits?
Your air duct system are the lungs of your home.
In a typical 6-room home, up to 40 pounds of dust is created annually through everyday living.
Typical contaminants in your ductwork include dust, dander, mold, and chemicals. This contaminated air gets circulated throughout your home about 5-7 times a day.
Duct Doctor DMV removes contaminants from your ductwork to reduce the risk and effect of airborne allergens, respiratory conditions, and autoimmune disorders.
According to the National Fire Protection Association, heating equipment, including dryers, is one of the leading causes of house fires.
To reduce your risk of a house fire, get your air ducts and dryer vents cleaned professionally.
What equipment is used?
Duct Doctor DMV employs a patented vacuum truck to remove all contaminants from your home’s ductwork.
Our vacuum trucks are the industry’s most powerful equipment and are powered by the truck’s diesel engine.
The contaminants we remove are stored in the truck’s debris collector for safe disposal.
We use an 8” hose connected to your ductwork to vacuum out all debris, and our truck’s air compressor supplies up to 200 pounds of air pressure.

General Air Duct Cleaning
What is air duct cleaning and why is it necessary?
How do I know if my air ducts need cleaning?
Common signs:
- Visible dust or debris around supply registers when the system runs
- Musty or persistent odors from vents
- Mold growth inside ducts or on components
- Rodent droppings or insect nests in the system
- Noticeably worse allergies or dust after the HVAC runs
- Uneven airflow or unusually high energy bills
If you see any of these, schedule a cleaning.
How often should I have my home’s air ducts cleaned?
For most homes, every 3–5 years is a good baseline. Clean sooner if you have pets that shed a lot, smokers in the house, unexplained allergy flare-ups, recent renovations, water damage, or evidence of pests. Commercial buildings and high-use systems may need cleaning more often.
What are the benefits of air duct cleaning for my home and family?
Benefits include improved airflow, fewer airborne particles and odors, reduced allergy and asthma triggers, better HVAC efficiency (which can lower energy costs), and a longer lifespan for your heating and cooling equipment.
Dryer Vent Cleaning
How often should my dryer vent be cleaned?
At minimum once a year for typical households. Clean every 6 months or more often if you have a large family, run the dryer frequently, have a long vent run, or notice any performance issues.
Can a dirty dryer vent cause a fire?
Yes. Lint is highly flammable and a restricted vent raises dryer temperature and stress on components. Clogged dryer vents are a leading cause of household dryer fires: cleaning cuts that risk dramatically.
Will cleaning my dryer vent make my dryer work faster?
Yes. Removing lint and restrictions restores airflow, so cycles finish faster, energy use drops, and the dryer experiences less wear.
What are the signs that my dryer vent is clogged?
Warning signs:
- Clothes take longer than usual to dry
- Dryer or laundry room feels unusually hot and/or humid after a cycle
- Lint blowing from the exterior vent or lint build-up around the outlet
- A burning or overheated smell during or after drying
- The dryer trips the breaker or shuts down unexpectedly
Air Quality & Health
Can duct cleaning help with pet hair, dander, or dust buildup?
Yes. Professional cleaning removes accumulated pet hair, dander, and dust from ducts and components, which reduces the amount of those particles circulated through the house. That said, it’s not a permanent cure; combine duct cleaning with frequent filter changes (use a higher-quality filter if appropriate), regular vacuuming with a HEPA-capable vacuum, and grooming pets to keep airborne pet particles low.
Will duct cleaning help remove smoke or mildew smells?
Should I clean my ducts if there’s visible microbial growth?
Can duct cleaning help reduce allergens in the home?
HVAC System & Efficiency
Does duct cleaning help my HVAC system last longer?
Can dirty ducts make my heating or AC system work harder?
Will duct cleaning improve airflow in my home?
In many homes, yes. Removing blockages and heavy buildup inside ducts helps restore proper airflow, which can improve comfort, balance temperatures between rooms, and help the system perform as intended.
Can duct cleaning reduce the amount of dust on furniture and floors?
